Very Impressed with Epiphone LP`s!

I have to admit,i have always shyed away from Epiphone in the past but a local music store got a bunch of Les Paul models in (Standards,Gold Tops,Customs)and they looked soooo nice i had to go and check em out. Well needless to say i was very impressed!! Fit,finish,and fretwork was excellent on all the ones i tried and although alot of people don`t care for the stock pups,they sounded very good as well! If it hadn`t been for the fact that Christmas is right around the corner i would have left with one,but right after the holidays are over i will definitely be picking one up. Great guitars!!! Any Epi fans? Show some pics if you can!

I used to have an Sg, and it was a nice playning guitar IMO, but i just prefer strats.

I have an Elitist Les Paul Standard in honey burst and it is a great guitar. I swapped out the pickups for a zebra Tone Zone/Air Norton combo and it sounds great (though the stock pickups were okay). Very lively when played acoutically too.

I have a Black Beauty and I LOVE it. It's still my favourite guitar, although the new SL3 is pushing it close, and once I get the two Invaders in the RR3 maybe that'll push it close too.
The frets are perfect on the Epiphone, and the action is so low it's just a total joy to play. Some people don't like the weight of LP's but I love this thing.
Like you say, the pups sound great too - okay the middle and neck ones lack clarity but the bridge one is great for stuff like Zep, Leppard and G N' R.

That is an awesome guitar!!!! I tried one of those out also and it is one i`m considering. I have it down to a Black Beauty,Gold Top,or Classic Plus Flame Top!
